Chocolate Nut-Butter Fat Bombs (Vegan, Gluten and Sugar Free)

So there I was, scrolling through Pinterest not particularly looking for anything specific, but admiring the tons of recipes, crafts, house decor and DIY projects that made up my timeline when Boom! I stumble across a pin created by Living Well Mom titled “Craving Buster Fat Bomb” with a picture that looked like Reese’s Peanut Butter cups (my all time favorite candy). I was intrigued, to put it mildly. If you want to see the post for yourself, you can check it out here:

  • It is only 3 ingredients
  • Two of those ingredients are chocolate and your favorite nut butter ( yum! I was sold already.)
  • This delicious combo feels like cheating BUT IT CAN ACTUALLY BURN FAT and boost your metabolism and it helps curb cravings, among some other great health benefits.
  • There is zero sugar (not even any artificial sweetener) and is Paleo, Keto and Fast Metabolism (phase 3) diet approved.

Are you in love yet? Because I am.

I love peanut butter but it’s not allowed on the Fast Metabolism Diet. Luckily for me, I went to the Decatur Farmers Market last weekend where I was intoduced to Georgia Grinders who make absolutely delcious nut butters AND they don’t add any sugar or oils. (score!) I sampled a variety of flavors and finally decided on getting a jar of their creamy cashew butter. If you want to try some for yourself 1.) you can come to Decatur and visit me or 2.) you can visit their website and maybe even purchase some for yourself here:

My favorite snack is dark chocolate covered almonds with sea salt that Trader Joes sales – these Chocolate Nut Butter fat bombs taste just like those, but better, and silky smooth. Since there isn’t any sugar/sweetener these won’t be sweet and taste like a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup (no matter how much they may look like one), but they are still very flavorful and delicious.

All you need is cacao powder, your favorite nut butter, and coconut oil. My cashew butter had sea salt in it which took this to a whole new level. If your nut butter doesn’t contain any sea salt, I highly recommend adding some as a fourth ingredient. Trust me, it takes this to a whole new level of deliciousness.

Just combine 1 cup melted coconut oil, 1 cup cacao powder, 1 cup nut butter and (optional) 1 teaspoon sea salt in a small bowl.

Then pour the mixture into candy molds or paper lined muffin tins.

Freeze until solid and then store in the freezer or the refrigerator (be careful not to leave out in room temperatur for too long as the cocnut oil will melt at room temp. (especially with it being the summer and so hot).

And viola! Now that you know about this amazing fat burning recipe run, don’t walk, to your nearest grocery store and make these immediately. Your body and your tastebuds will thank you.
